SITE ASSESSMENT, CHARACTERIZATION & REMEDIATION

Environmental Site Assessments

Weecycle has full-service capabilities for complete site assessments, remediation and site closure and these include Phase I, II, III evaluations, Phase IV remediation. Phase I evaluations provide background and historical information to determine the previous site usage and a regional and local overview of geology and hydrology. Phase I evaluations are accomplished by utilizing historical records, available public records, interviews and site reconnaissance to determine if there is a potential of any environmental liabilities associated with property transfer.

Phase II evaluations include subsurface investigations, building material analysis and air quality studies, to determine if any releases of hazardous materials have adversely effected the environment (air, soil and groundwater). Weecycle's State Certified Inspectors can perform the required asbestos surveys if asbestos-containing material is suspected. All samples are analyzed and the Phase II report includes data interpretation, evaluation and recommendations for remedial action or closure.

Phase III involves the selecting of a remedial technique, developing a time-line, price analysis and actual remediation procedures. Once satisfactory levels are accomplished, in accordance with regulatory standards, a final report is submitted to the responsible agency requesting closure of the site. Once granted the property is ready for use.

Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments usually do not involve the regulatory agencies, and are conducted at the request of the property owner, prospective buyer or lending institution. Phase III and IV site assessments may involve local and state regulatory agencies. All site assessments involving federal agencies follow the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) protocol.
