Weecycle performs LBP inspections in accordance to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Protocol. An inspection is defined as a surface-by surface investigation to determine the presence of LBP (40 CFR part 745 and Title X of the 1992 Housing and Community Development Act).
Surveys are conducted using a portable X-ray fluorescence (XRF) device to determine the lead content of paint on material tested. Confirmatory samples are collected of representative building material. These samples are collected throughout the facility in low profile locations.
An accredited laboratory, utilizing “EPA methodology 7000 prep/7420 Flame AA,” performs laboratory analysis of bulk samples. LBP investigation reports include a site map indicating areas identified as having lead based paint and the preparation of an occupant protection plan for rehabilitation projects.
